Much ado about NOTHING

Since Saturday 18 December when the this match was postponed to 1 March, the hype about Chelsea vs Manchester United on Tuesday has been huge with both sets of fans eager to silence the other. Everyone from the players, pundits , managers and fans have been talking up the match. With both clubs having shared the last 6 Barclay's Premier League titles between them (3 each), what SHOULD have been a title deciding fixture is really just another mid-week clash.

The truth is when the GREAT Manchester United step out at Stamford bridge in London today, not much is up for stake except the pure pride of a loss/shame of a defeat. All the same I will be cheering for a United win at the bridge as nothing pleases me more than adding insult to injury when it comes to rival teams like Liverpool, Man City and Cheslea!!!

Either way I predict a draw as United's away form has been frustrating, to say the least, this season and I foresee Sir Alex adopting his Champion's league formation to quell any possible attacking threat by Ancelotti's men.

John Terry's supposed taunts of Sir Alex's 19th march towards a league title crumbling due to a defeat tonight are rumblings of a falling empire wishing to shy away from yet another embarrassment by the ever untrustworthy Cashley Cole.

I betcha 20 i can shoot that intern!!!

One must applaud Ashley's new found aim and prowess after that dismal miss in the F.A. Cup penalty shootout against Everton, although I'm sure that air rifles won't be allowed to help shoot down Chelsea's 15 point gap from the top of the table. If he can aim like that when shooting on goal, then Torres may have to get his shooting boots on ASAP!!!
With Drogba sulking ( you're not scoring buddy) at being benched whilst Anelka seems hell bent on taking the Blues ship down with his career classic penalty misses, "Pensioner's Bridge" may just miss out on Champions league football next season. I wonder how their Russian billionaire would react to this?? Fire the WHOLE team, sell them and leave them in debt!!

Chelsea's  2011/2012 Europa League kit had the team confused!!

The truth is United  find form in the latter stage of the Premier League season and an unlikely loss tonight would quickly be doused out with a win. During the 2008/2009 season when United lost to Liverpool and then Fulham in the latter stages of the campaign, the critics were shouting that United were crumbling but as I FONDLY remember, the title ended up at Old Trafford.

The game away at Liverpool on Saturday carries more of a significance for the United faithful as the scousers will be out to harm United's 19th title challenge as well as put a smile on King Kenny's face
.
( I ENJOY hearing the different ways people pronounce his surname..better than  the Thiery "HENRY/HANRY" Henry  days LMAO).

I am hoping Steven "kiss the camera or badge" Gerrard is fit to play so that the scousers cant moan about injuries after going down at West Ham who had Scott Parker playing on pain killer injections ( a REAL footballing hero, fighting on even tho his team are doomed with relegation)!! Good luck to Andy Carrol on his weight loss program!!

A kiss is worth a thousand words!!!!

Congrats to Birmingham and a certain Ben Foster ( UNITED made ya) for the Carling Cup win all the same. Europa League next season for the lads means they might be rubbing shoulders with Chelsea!! Meanwhile the Mancini vs Hughes ( who would be-friend they guy/girl that took your job??) spat continues at the same pace and vigor as Manchester City's title bid ( HAHA), Blackpool crumbled after  DJ saw red for throwing blows. The week ended sour for him and his mates after such a wonderful mid-week thanks to Spurs.

The joke of the week so far has to be Arsenal. I wont even say much about that because let's face it, everything that can be said has been said. 6 YEARS and the photo below says it all.

Maybe it is time to buy Arsene?

The cricket World Cup continues and I am happy to congratulate the Zimbabwean Cricket team on a great win against Canada as well as a good effort in the defeat against Australia. It was Zimbabwe's fourth-biggest win in ODIs by a runs margin and their most emphatic in a World Cup although the near-empty stadium was really disappointing. RISE UP ZIMBABWE, good luck on the teams next match vs New Zealand.

The New York Knicks big 3 definitely took care of the Miami Heat and showed they are a force to be reckoned with this year, after years of being the laughing stock of the NBA. Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points, Amar'e Stoudemire added 16 (plus a huge blocked shot against LeBron James with 7 seconds left) and Chauncey Billups also had 16 points. I still favour the Celtics to win the Championship (lest they sell out like last season) and expect it to be a Lakers vs Celtics final again.

This blog is not political but for those of you who didn't know Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's Libyan Arab Foreign Investment Company SA, or Lafico, owns a 7.5% stake in Italian club  Juventus FC so I am curious as to how the whole freezing of his assets will work in this case.

FINALLY for the Manchester United faithful....here is something for the week, GO Michael Owen

Owen was relieved after the game at Anfield ended in victory for Manchester United

Torres finally scored....................A TICKET

GO MANCHESTER UNITED!!!!!

and that folks is...............Lethario's Take on it!
